Artist and floral designer, Ruth Muzio grew up in Brooklyn, NY and studied fine arts at the Cooper Union and before that at LaGuardia High school of Music, Art and Performing Arts. She cannot remember a time in her life that did not involve drawing and being creative. In school she focused on charcoal drawing, figure and nature studies, oil painting and experimenting with mixed media (such as painting on handmade papers and upholstery fabrics).

She started doing floral design in 2002 for a small boutique in the west village, running the busy shop and learning as she went along. As a side hobby she began a collection of hand made cards to sell and put with special orders for the shop. The dream of starting her own company began at that time with the idea of combining an artist’s studio with a floral design studio.

In the past five years she worked for some of the most talented event designers in New York City. Each event and wedding is truly unique. One week you can be fabric draping and the next, making chandeliers. Kraft Paper Scissors was created to share a passion for unique handcrafted items and to collaborate with clients to produce unforgettable events and floral arrangements
